We are the Rose & Crown Singers

A community choir in Walthamstow, London

Welcome

The Rose & Crown Singers was formed in April 2009 by a few friends who enjoyed singing and wanted to bring live music to community events. The group has grown over time and continues to welcome new members with a love of singing. We owe our thanks to the Ye Olde Rose and Crown Theatre Pub not only for our name, but also for our rehearsal space, opportunities to perform, and practical help and encouragement.

About us

We are all about singing

Our activities

We are a community choir working on a cooperative basis with a regular professional leader.

Our repertoire is varied and includes folk songs, old English drinking songs, rounds and popular music, often arranged by members. We sing mainly acapella but also collaborate with local musicians to sing accompanied.

We perform at local community fundraising events and festivals.

We take our name from the pub, Ye Olde Rose & Crown, that has supported us with rehearsal and performance spaces, practical help and encouragement since our formation.

Venue

If you would like to join us, come along and try us out at one of our weekly practice sessions:
Location:

53 Hoe Street, London E17
Wednesdays, 7.30 - 9.30pm

You don't need to have any previous singing experience or be able to read music, and you don't need to audition. First couple of sessions are free: if you decide to join, there's a small weekly charge to cover costs.
